Confirmation Emails

When an individual subscribes to a newsletter configured to send with Goodbits, the subscriber is started as an internal status 'pending'. This status means that we have sent a confirmation email to that subscriber.

Why is this a good idea?

  • The main reason here is to encourage a double opt-in to prevent spamming to those that requested to get emails.
  • Email addresses can also sometimes be misspelled or incorrectly added. And if future emails are sent to this address, they bounce and harm the deliverability of your email.

What if the subscriber forgets?

Goodbits automatically sends a reminder email to confirm their subscription once after 24 hours and then again after 3 days.
